Sarah M. Shoulak is a remote HR professional, speaker, artist, nonprofit co-founder, and all-around Jill-of-all-trades. She’s also a mental health advocate, SA survivor, suicide survivor, has survived multiple brushes with death herself, and is an author with a new memoir manifesto titled: Dead Serious: How Death Made Me Laugh at Life.
By sharing her own struggles with anger and addiction, she seeks to inspire others to make big changes in their own lives and see light (and a little humor) in the darkest moments.

The stories in this book will help readers navigate big changes and big feelings as they learn to love themselves in challenging seasons of their lives. It may not be an easy book to read, but it will be impactful.

Mar 27, 2026 – This opportunity started off as a panel. I was invited to chat with multiple other women about these hot-button topics. However, like many topics that are hard to stomach, sometimes people don’t want to have their opinions on the record. Paula and I don’t shy away from this frank discussion about Women – Weapons – and “What’s wrong with that?” Even though we’re in very different countries, we’ve unfortunately had a lot of similar experiences that we share in this animated session.

Erica is a great, down to Earth host who made the conversation flow so naturally; it was also fun realizing that we’re sort of neighbors, too and run in many of the same circles. Small world, Central Florida!
